My Weight Loss Journey

I FINALLY feel in the right mind set to start getting back into healthy eating and exercising. It’s been a long rough 2 years of struggling and coping with food and being so depressed I couldn’t get up to do anything active. I had no desire to be healthy. I had no desire to take care of myself. I just wanted to eat and sleep. Today, I feel less depressed and I don’t feel the need to cope with food. So as of Wednesday, November 8, 2017, I started my new weight loss journey to become a better, healthier me!

Before my trauma I was in the best shape and healthiest I had ever been. I even ran a half marathon in October 2014. I discovered Alyse Scaffidi of Bite Sized Fitness on Instagram when I was working as a trainer at planet fitness in August 2014. She had and still has a free 12-week training program that I strictly followed. I turned my non-muscular body into a toned strong body in a short 3 months. I was strong, confident, felt great, and looked great. A little less than a year after that is when the trauma happened and everything went downhill.

As I’ve stated before, I hate the way I look and feel. I have gained 60+ pounds and stretch marks have appeared in places that I do not appreciate. Now that I am feeling better and am motivated to eat healthy and exercise, I have decided to try Herbalife. A friend of mine, Ashley, has had great success with this and is a Herbalife coach and is also my coach! I have started a 7-week challenge with her and a bunch of other ladies and I’m so excited! For those of you unfamiliar with Herbalife click here to find out more. I am a little embarrassed to share these, but here are my before pictures. (Pictures taken 11/7/17)

So, here is what I will be doing. 2 Herbalife shakes per day (breakfast and lunch) along with 3 protein snacks and a healthy protein rich dinner and 90oz of water working my way up to one gallon. For exercise, I will continue to do yoga, but I will also be starting Bite Sized Fitness 12-week program on Monday! That consists of a different muscle group each day 5 days a week. I am excited to start this journey and see what results I get. My goal is to lose 50-60 pounds by August 2018. This goal is very doable. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week, so it is not out of reach.
